Marvel Universe Vs Wolverine 04 Cbr: A Stunning Conclusion to the Epic Series

In the Marvel universe's pantheon of mutants with incredible powers and abilities, Wolverine is most well known for his immense healing factor, unbreakable skeleton, and functional immortality. Although Wolverine is extremely hard to kill, he has still met some very bittersweet and grizzly demises throughout his comic book career.

Wolverine has died several times in alternate timelines, however, he has perished in some significantly gruesome ways in Marvel's 616 universe. And while death, healing, and rebirth are a main staple for the hero, the methods and characters responsible for his deaths are certainly worth exploring.

The Ultimate Marvel Universe was noteworthy for its often gritty tone. It also commonly tried to take a more realistic approach to superheroes, by showing their effect on world politics. Stories tended to be more violent with graphic imagery, leading to some truly shocking moments. In fact, it often surprised its readers by re-imagining a drastically different take on a character or situation. With that in mind, here are the most controversial moments from the Ultimate Marvel universe.

Gunnar turned out to be Loki in disguise, but it also turned out he wasn't lying about Mjolnir being a fake. Thor eventually regained the more classical looking Mjolnir, but only briefly. He lost it during the fall of Asgard in "Ultimate Comics: The Ultimates" #2 (2011) by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic. Thor went back to wielding the fake Mjolnir until "Secret Wars" (2015), during which the Ultimate universe ended, and the fake Mjolnir made its way to the mainstream Marvel Universe.

Moreover, the Marvel universe's prime version of Wolverine only recently came back to life after being dead for a number of years. Meanwhile, the half-vampire vampire hunter known as Blade has recently become a bona fide member of the Avengers. In turn, it should be interesting to see where exactly this new one-shot takes place in Marvel's continuity.

This terrifyingly evil Spider-Man became Patient Zero and took control of a portion of the former New York City. He hired an uninfected Frank Castle and sent him to rescue Mary Jane, who was pregnant. Punisher tore his way through the infected heroes of the Marvel universe and rescued Mary Jane. However, Castle still punished Spider-Man for spreading the plague and killed Patient Zero.

Another monstrous version of Spider-Man first appeared in the Marvel Zombies universe. Like most of the heroes of this Earth, Spider-Man was infected with an other-dimensional virus that transformed him into a zombie. He joined the other heroes of Earth in devouring anyone and everything in their path in some of Marvel Zombies' most horrifying moments.

The zombified Peter Parker even attacked and consumed Aunt May and Mary Jane Watson. While horrified by his actions, he couldn't control his hunger and joined a collection of heroes who consumed Galactus in order to feed with cosmic power. Zombie Spider-Man eventually succumbed to his guilt and helped trap the zombie universe to end their growth across the multiverse.

Born from the primordial void, Knull is the eldritch god of darkness that created the symbiotes. As soon as the Celestials brought light into his dark kingdom, Knull forged the All-Black, a blade that bounds with its host much like all symbiotes do. For a while, Knull struck fear into the universe, waging war all alone against the Celestials. However, after the All-Black was lost, Knull decided to create an army of symbiote-dragons connected to him through a hive mind to conquer the universe while sitting at his dark throne. Besides having the powers of a God, Knull can manipulate the abyss that existed before creation, bringing life out of the darkness. He can control symbiotes, is virtually immortal, and has even the ability to manipulate time itself. Knull is one of the biggest threats in the entire Marvel universe, and his dark empire extends for billions of years.

In the Earth-12025 alternate universe, Wolverine fell in love with Hercules. This power couple combined Hercules' god-like strength and Wolverine's adamantine-laced skeleton and claws. Despite this, the two encountered turbulence due to the gods looking on it unfavorably. 2ff7e9595c
